Since now I’m working for the Department of Commercial Interior and Visual Merchandising at the Westerdals School Of Communication, where the main focus is on retail design and interior architecture, I ‘ve developed a special interest for window decoration and visual merchandising design. It’s a very difficult area to work around, because it’s the most commercial one. Very often the all cool concepts end up just with a styling of the things that shops find difficult to sell. And it’s easily for a designer to become tacky and for window decoration to look cheap , even for the luxury brands that invest in the window decoration.
I find that the best window decoration for the moment are done by Arnold Goron for Isabel Marant. He has done the packaging’s concept and illustrations for Isabel Marant as well. Sometimes I think, that my decision to purchase something from Isabel Marant is made not because of a seasons ” must have” by her, but because of the Goron’s work. As such, the goal of visual communication designs is.
